Raising Funds and Awareness for Congenital Heart Disease

We believe in the great impact of involving the community in lifesaving initiatives. That is why Isaac Special Heart Foundation in Oakley, California, was established to support children with congenital heart disease and their families.

Spreading Awareness

Isaac was born with a heart defect called Congenital Pulmonary Artery Atresia on December 12, 2017 in University of California San Francisco Children’s Hospital and went to be with the Lord on May 30, 2018. Pulmonary atresia is a form of heart disease in which the pulmonary valve does not form properly. The pulmonary valve is an opening on the right side of the heart that regulates blood flow from the right ventricle (right side pumping chamber) to the lungs. According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) study in 2019 “ 1 in every 7,100 babies born in the United States each year are born with pulmonary atresia”. Isaac underwent two open-heart surgeries to repair his heart.

Isaac only lived for about five months on this earth, yet he made lasting changes in the lives and attitudes of his parents, brother, aunties, cousins and his immediate medical staff. Majority of his short life was full of suffering, but when he was not in pain, he watched Warriors basketball game with his brother and hospital staff. His brother and cousins played and sang to him when he was not in pain.

Fundraising

Our goal from day one is to give children with heart disease and defects a second chance in life. That is why we created fundraising initiatives for research and to help struggling families afford treatment.
